Whether it be for tending to the animals, doing groundswork, being a tourguide on Saturdays, manning a table or booth at a fundraiser, or any number of other activities, Wolf Run would not be able to exist without the help of our volunteers.

PHOTO COMING SOON SARA WORLEY: Sara Worley is an animal studies/psychology major at Eastern Kentucky University who has recently begun her internship at the refuge. She has volunteered at Wolf Run since February 2011 and has a long history of working with animals of all types. She aims for a future surrounded by as many animals as possible, giving them the warm homes and reliable meals that they deserve. PHOTO COMING SOONTRICIA BINETSCH: Tricia graduated from UK in 2003 with a degree in Business. Although she loves her job in sales, it bothered her that she wasn't able to come home and say that she had really made a difference that day. She saw a news story about Wolf Run in 2009, and has been volunteering here ever since. She is convinced we all have a responsibility to give back to our communities, and her work at Wolf Run is her way of doing so. She is now WR's volunteer coordinator. She also has incredible skills at setting up events and networking which has been invaluable to Wolf Run!
PHOTO COMING SOONMICHELE NEWTZ: Michele Athey Newtz is a Private Caregiver, wife and mother to one son and five fur babies. She has dedicated her life to saving animals. Michele is well known for her two massive English Mastiffs, Hugo and Jeff. She recently unselfishly adopted Jeff knowing he would need a lot of expensive medical care to treat conditions related to prior improper care. Please CLICK HERE to help with his medical expenses. PHOTO COMING SOONHEATHER SPEARMAN: Heather recieved a degree in Zoology from Auburn University in 2010. She has been volunteering at Wolf Run since November 2010 and has gladly been out in the rain, ice, and heat to care for these beautiful animals. Heather hopes to work saving and protecting animals for the rest of her life. While she will be leaving for an internship at Tiger Creek in November, Heather hopes to return to Wolf Run afterwards if possible.
PHOTO COMING SOONSHEILA RAE CUMMINS: Sheila is a happily married animal lover who has 4 dogs and a cat who wishes she could have more. Sheila volunteers her free time to helping Wolf Run whenever possible when she is not working as a Sonographer for the University of Kentucky Comprehensive Breast Care Center. She also loves photography as a hobby. You can see and purchase copies of her work at Visions of Kentucky Photography. A portion of all of her sales goes to benefit Wolf Run! PHOTO COMING SOONDAVID R. FULLER: David just recently discovered his love of animals and thoroughly enjoys every aspect of it. He is 53 years old, and works for S & D Construction Management as well as DRF Investments. David is looking forward to obtaining his KY Wildlife Rehabbers license in the near future and helping Wolf Run in any way that he is able.
PHOTO COMING SOONJENNIFER SHIELDS; Jennifer is an Animal Studies major at EKU, her world revolves around helping animals- wild or domesticated. She has been an intern at Wolf Run since March 2011 and is in the process of receiving her wildlife rehabilitation license. She wishes to pursue a career in working with animal rescue organizations. PHOTO COMING SOONTYLER HOUSTON: Tyler is a student at UK. She is currently the youngest volunteer at Wolf Run, but has proved herself to be dedicated, mature, and a hardworking member of the Wolf Run family since she began volunteering in August of 2010. She takes her volunteering very seriously while working to better the lives of the animals at Wolf Run, and hopes to continue to do so for a very long time. Her favorite resident is Chief, with whom she bonded with instantly!
PHOTO COMING SOONSARAH WILSON: Sarah is studying Wildlife Management and Biology at EKU. She began her routine volunteer work with Wolf Run in 2010. Her favorite resident is Rowdy the raccoon. She also spends her time promoting awareness of endangered species. Sarah hopes to dedicate her life to the well-being of the entire wildlife kingdom and educate the masses to their plights. It is her hope that with a brighter future will come the tools to diminish ignorance and raise awareness and understanding of the vitality our wildlife possesses. PHOTO COMING SOONDEE STURGILL: Dee is a long-time animal rights activist and a believer that all animals are sentient beings. She has been involved with many animal groups over the past few years planning events and fundraising, but has a special love for Wolf Run. She admires women like Mary Kindred who give up their everyday lives to care for and be a companion to many animals that come from dire situations. She has a background in event planning, marketing, graphic design and photography and hopes to put her skills to work in raising much needed funds, and by raising awareness about our animals. Oh, and she is a big Steelers fan!!
PHOTO COMING SOONCAREY PARKER: Carey has been volunteering at Wolf Run for almost 2 years, after being friends with Mary from grade school! She is the Director of Family Ministry at St. Paul Catholic, and previously a music teacher at St. Peter and Paul School. Carey is the fundraising coordinator at WR. My job at WR is to coordinate the fundraising efforts. Both her husband Tom and her daughter Martha are WR volunteers and supporters, too! We has 2 dogs and 2 cats at home. She hopes everyone will come out to visit our wonderful refuge!  PHOTO COMING SOONSHARIE DOUGHERTY: Sharie is a full time wildlife rehaber, volunteer, pooper scooper, and cage cleaner, along with being the VP of Wolf Run. She attended MSU studying biology and chemistry. Sharie is indispensable in raising the flood of babies WR gets every spring. We at Wolf Run owe her a huge debt of gratitude for giving so much of her life to caring for infant animals. She is also very caring and experienced in dealing with the exotic animals and those with medical care needs while under the care of Wolf Run.
PHOTO COMING SOONSAVANNAH MASSEY: Savannah is a student at BCTC majoring in Wolf Behavior/Wildlife Management. She has been with Wolf Run for four years, with work other animal related fields before that. She is currently working toward her rehab license. Savannah is the Educational Director and Head of Animal Care at the facility. She has chosen to dedicate her life to helping better the lives of the animals at Wolf Run and animals everywhere. Savannah's favorite resident is Singa, the African lioness who she is very close to. PHOTO COMING SOONPlease keep watching for info on another wonderful intern or volunteer!
