The Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge in Nicholasville, Kentucky is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that relies very heavily on donations to feed & care for all of our animals.   We are a NO KILL facility that helps innocent animals find a world that is safe & free from abuse as well as permanent sanctuary for those that cannot be released back in to the wild.  We also rescue homeless, abused, neglected, abandoned & unwanted senior dogs and other pets along with other domestic and farm animals in hopes of healing them physically and emotionally then finding quality homes for them to reside in.  Wolf Run is licensed by the state of Kentucky & the USDA as an educational facility that houses Kentucky native wildlife as well as African Lions to South American cougars.

We are currently experiencing major funding issues.  If any of you have ever worked in animal rescue you know that there is no money generated in this business. We recently had a water leak at the refuge that skyrocketed our bill to over $1000.  Our winter heating bills spiked our electric bills to nearly $800 a month. We are also in great need of getting expensive veterinary treatment for our wild and domestic animals with medical needs, plus constant medical attention for our senior dog program Poodles P.E.A.R.L.S.  WE understand that times are hard, so we are starting what we are calling the ‘Five Dollar Campaign’ which we feel anyone who wants to donate to Wolf Run can afford. We are in serious need of your financial help. You can contribute in a couple of different ways:

• Go to our web page http://www.wolfrun.org/donate.htm to set up a recurring monthly donation in five dollar increments.  As low as $5 a month from several donors makes a HUGE difference!!
• You can also make a one-time donation on the same page.  Every dollar counts! Five, ten, fifteen, it all adds up!!

• Buy a Kroger card for $5 (it has $5 already loaded on it) and pay to preload it before you check out. Kroger will donate 4% of the total of whatever amount you pay to reload the card to Wolf Run!! This is an easy and painless way to contribute to us on a regular basis without costing you an extra penny! We also thank everyone for all the anonymous and cash donations we receive as well! They mean so much to helping provide the care the animals need and deserve!

We are now partnering with ChipIn to make it easy to make donations and help with our special needs funding!

Last year we narrowly avoided a food budget crisis through the generous donations of our supporters at the last minute. We really don't want to have to go through that again. We are starting a ChipIn specifically to pay for the food required by the farm animals and deer at Wolf Run so we can have money in the bank when the fall and winter feed bills come. All of the deer and farm animals at Wolf Run require feed as there is little grass available for grazing. Buddy the horse needs special feed because of his limited ability to bite and chew due to his facial damage as a result of his attack as a foal. According to Mary, Wolf Run uses about 4 bales of hay per day during the winter and early spring. That is roughly 185 bales folks. At $3.75 per bale, that comes to a hay bill alone of $2,775! We need help to pay for this colossal expense. Please donate a few dollars to help pay for feeding these wonderful animals!

The ChipIn's above help to pay the massive costs of operating the refuge and caring for all the residents daily needs. Every dollar you donate is appreciated!
