Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge

The Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge isn't completely about saving wildlife. We have also taken it upon ourselves to rehabilitate and care for domestic animals as well. Some of our residents are dogs misclassified as wolf hybrids, some are abandoned, abused, neglected, injured, or aged pets that their owners cannot or will not take care of. Once they are healthy and happy, we do our best to find forever homes for our beloved animal family. Shawnee came to Wolf Run from Woodford Humane. We suspect her owner was actually the person who "said" they found her as a stray. She may be a low percentage wolf/dog, but we have no proof since she was a "stray". She is such a good girl. She loves to go for car rides, jumps right in and enjoys lots of love and attention. She is very people friendly!

Cally
12 year old Quarter Horse Mare-sound, wonderful ground manners. Would make someone a lovely pet. She is very difficult under saddle. We do not encourage anyone to attempt to ride her. But working with Cally in the stall, outside in the ring or field she is a doll.

For Adoption-Five year old male poodle. DJ is a cuddler. He sleeps in the bed at night, loves people and other dogs, cats, parrots, snakes-shall I continue? LOL He is fully vetted and ready for a new home♥ DJ lost his front leg but in a mowing accident. He gets around almost as if he has all four! Plays like a puppy, housebroken, walks well on a leash but his walks are limited due to his disability. We are accepting applications on this sweet boy now! Walks well on leash. Very shy and needs experienced owner. No cats, small children or other small pets. Max came in from a Ky. dog shelter. He is beyond loving once you gain his trust. He is a gorgeous animal with a beautiful heart.

This is Bull. Bull was brought to us because his owners could no longer keep him after their divorce. He is a low percentage hybrid and is for adoption to the perfect home. HE IS NOT GOOD WITH CATS! He is playful, healthy and loves people. I suspect he would make a wonderful alarm system once he knew that he was "home" yet greet those he knew with a happy tail. He has not been kept indoors that I know of so would need some lessons in manners. Bully so eager to please and will be someone's dearest friend if only given the chance.
